This super cute series of comic books by my latest illustrator crush Kageyama Naomi depicts the day-to-day life of shiba inu in Japan. Kageyama is illustrated in her self-portrait above with her two pups, Gon and Tetsu. Even with my less than elementary knowledge of Japanese, it was easy to laugh and relate to her anecdotes of shiba charm, stubbornness and shenanigans.

Kageyama hosts exhibitions of her work (like this one at the Kaya Gallery + Studio) and has produced her art on goods like letterpress postcards, hand towels and treats packaging that seem to be only available in Japan. (Can I just book my ticket there now?)

The books above and the rest of the series are available for purchase on Amazon Japan.
